Toronto
Music Garden
The
Toronto Music Garden is the only park of its kind in
the world.
|
|
Situated on the picturesque
Toronto Harbourfront
Centre, the Music Garden was designed to reflect cellist
Yo-Yo MaMa's interpretation in nature of Bach's First Suite
for Unaccompanied Cello.
Julie
Messervy designed the waterfront Music Garden in collaboration
with landscape architects from the city's Parks and Recreation
department.
|
|
Anne Roberts,
Feir Mill Design Inc., designed the Maypole. Created
from metal woven around a cedar telephone pole, the Celtic-patterned
spirals and iron wheel move gently with the wind.
Music programming is offered on-site during the summer months,
along with guided and self-guided tours.
