This Birdhouse/Sculpture
recalls the human activities of the Toronto lakeshore
at the turn of the
20th century, with warehouses of the Toronto Electric Company,
the corner bank dressed
in its classical facade, the Sunnyside bathing palace and
clusters of ice cream parlours and boathouses attracting
Toronto residences to the lure of the water.

Standing sentinel
to this rich waterfront legacy,the Birdhouse/Sculpture arises
from within the Spadina Quay Gardens at the foot of Spadina
Avenue adjacent to the Marina.
Todays visitors are invited to again enjoy the spectacular
lake views and scenic strolls though the wetland garden.
